Travel Information for Day-trippers
The Giants Causeway is one of the ‘must see’ sights when visiting Northern Ireland. From near – by Downhill Hostel guests can do a beautiful day trip to the Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, and Bushmills Distillery. So if you want to stay on the legendary Downhill Beach at the gorgeous Downhill Hostel and see the Giant’s Causeway its easy!
- By car the Giants Causeway is a 30 minute drive from Downhill, through Coleraine town then back out to the Causeway Coast.
- If you are a backpacker or traveling on foot you can catch the #134 bus from in front of the hostel, travel through Coleraine and onto Bushmills where there is a park-and-ride servicing the Giant’s Causeway very frequently.
Pictures Please…Pretty Please!
We would like to build this page into a virtual gallery of your Giant’s Causeway pics! You can leave a comment and post a photo or email us a photo to info@downhillhostel.com and I will post it here! I’ve seen some beautiful photos taken by guests over the years so if you have a favourite Giants Causeway memory we would love to see it here!
Here is a teaser for a new post of photography from the Giant’s Causeway at sunset:
